![]() So, the only conclusion that I have left is that the Installation Software provided by HP is in fact flawed, broken, needs an update. I have in face restarted it several times. I can ping it no issue from the console, I can open the printers web page without an problem. I have searched by IP address, MAC address, hostname, noting works. Now, why can't the installer use the same search algorithm to find the printer instead of using an obviously "dumb down" version. So, I tried to find it using the HP Print and Scan Doctor software which found the printer but only on the second search attempt. ![]() When trying to install my HP LaserJet Printer, which worked perfectly fine on WIndows 7 Ultimate, no issue's whatsoever, even printed on it earlier today, in Windows 10 the software can't find the printer. Anyway, now I have to reinstall all of my software which is a pain in and of itself. So, it was either purchase a larger SSD or Windows 10. Prior to Microsoft's assault of patches I only had 30% drive utilization, afterwards (I installed nothing except Windows patches) I went to 28% available drive space and Windows 7 was constantly crashing. I recently was forced to upgrade to Windows 10 thanks for Microsoft releasing a deluge of "manditory patches" that actually filled up an entire 256GB hard drive over the course of a few days. ![]() So, I know a problem when I see one, this is not a "did you plug it in" or "is it turned on" or "have you turned it off and on again" IT Crowd kind of problem. I understand networking, I am a network engineer, I am also a software developer. ![]() So, just to clarify for all the people who might read this. So, I was running Windows 7 Ultimate up until about 2 hours before having to find help which I have never ever needed before. ![]()
